F-35A is not $85m unit cost. I believe with the engine and no development costs it’s still over $100m and that is the most generous calculation.

At least for the Navy, contractors could not go beyond a 180' after the merge. This may have loosened up a bit since the KFIRS started carrying Sidewinder training rounds, but it’s is not like BFM training. More targets/jamming etc.
