Training To Hit Moving Targets In A Tank Looks Like The Most Fun Ever

Remember Super Battletank? I spent hours trying to master the SNES game when I was a kid, and at the time the prevailing wisdom was that tank warfare was dead following Desert Storm. But over two decades later these ground crushing leviathans continue to prove themselves during the Thunder Runs of Iraqi Freedom, and are still being used supporting Marines in Afghanistan.

As a tanker, you have to train to employ your cannon while on the move. That's hard. What's harder is that your target moves as well. Training for this deadly surface-based ballet is well depicted in the video above. With Fury opening this weekend it seems only right for us to appreciate a little tanker skill.

I don't want to take any of the credit away from the tank crews, but the ballistic computer does most of the calculus and trajectory computations to make these shots possible.
